Abstract | The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which aerial radioactive discharges from the UK’s nuclear and non-nuclear sectors contribute to concentrations of radionuclides in the marine environment, and ultimately whether aerial discharges should be included in the UK Strategy. The objectives of the study were to obtain summary data on aerial discharges made from the various nuclear and non-nuclear sectors and to assess their importance by comparing the relative impactof these discharges against published measured concentrations in the marine environment. | |
